Fiberglass boats made in japan are very sturdy, stronger structure to face heavy pounding of waves. They have great skills in making mixture of resins & polyethylene plastics
So many of these beautiful fishing boats were swept out to sea during the massive tsunami years ago. Many were damaged beyond repair. I don't know what was done about these ghost ships, some must have sank or been sunk by the Japanese coast guard.
Almost you can for give and under stand why they kill whale and Dolphin in derivation after the had requested partition from various spirt govern the Marine species and ocean plus western media and RUclipsrs . For me I am looking for one of second hand fishing boat to use in WA.

The men on board had their lives at risk. I have seen many large yachts snap the straps and drop like a rock. The straps could cut a man in half.
That's purely a matter of maintenance. Something Japanese are quite good at, unlike for instance the US.
